He completed his residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, followed by his fellowship training at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Dr. Furman is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He also holds professional memberships with the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. Intensive care medicine, or critical care medicine, is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and management of life-threatening conditions that may require sophisticated life support and intensive monitoring. As a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician, Dr. Furman remains dedicated to helping his patients alleviate their struggles with airway and lung maladies (sleep apnea, allergies, asthma, and more).
