Central Texas Spine Institute Offers Comprehensive Spine Care in Central Texas

Aug 14, 2020

August 14, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Central Texas Spine Institute PLLC, based in Austin, Texas, has announced that they are offering comprehensive spine care in Central Texas through their spine surgeon, Dr. Randall F. Dryer. Dr. Dryer is an award-winning spine surgeon and a reputable innovator in stem cell therapies. His work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals, and he has garnered several awards, including being one of the top 100 surgeons in the United States, according to Becker’s Spine. He specializes in the treatment of degenerative conditions of the spine and he makes use of cutting edge minimally invasive surgical methods to minimize recovery time for the patients, allowing them to return to their regular daily routine.

Central Texas Spine Institute offers a complete range of therapeutic and surgical services. These include: orthopedic stem cell treatment, endoscopic discectomy, lumbar fusion, epidural steroid injections (ESIs), minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation, artificial disc replacement, spinal cord stimulators, cervical discectomy, complicated spinal reconstructions, sacroiliac (SI) joint injections / fusions, disc arthroplasty (disc replacement), lateral access spine surgery, bone growth stimulators, and cervical disc arthroplasty.

With regards to orthopedic stem cell treatment, Dr. Dryer says, “The emerging field of stem cell therapy promises to change the face of medicine, and orthopedics is no exception. While many of these treatments remain largely experimental and cost-prohibitive, there are some methods that have become publicly available in recent years. The procedures are typically highly effective, with some patients experiencing noticeable results within days. Injured tissues including cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and even bone can be restored with stem cell therapy, commonly through the use of targeted injections.” Those who want to know more about the practice may want to follow their Facebook page.

In orthopedic stem cell treatment, the orthopedic surgeon will extract bone marrow cells from a patient. This contains stem cells and the stem cells are separated by using a centrifuge. These stem cells are then injected back into the patient in that part of the body where treatment is required. These stem cells, for example, can form cartilage tissue in a joint where this tissue has been depleted. Theoretically, cells for bones, ligaments, and tendons can be generated and used to repair tissues that have been damaged.

Dr. Dryer can also provide endoscopic discectomy, which is a minimally invasive spine surgery for treating herniated discs. This is a common spine disorder that causes a range of symptoms, ranging from slight discomfort to intense pain, and limited mobility. The procedure is only slightly intrusive, using only a small incision in the back to gain access to the herniated disc. The surgeon uses an endoscope to view the part of the disc that is compressing the nerve root so that this may be removed using surgical tools.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dryer uses lumbar fusion to treat degenerative disc disease, which causes a lot of pain as a result of pinched nerves. This is because as the discs break down, the space between the vertebrae is reduced, causing the nerve root to become compressed. Lumbar fusion has the goal of restoring that space. The orthopedic surgeon removes a portion of the damaged disc and then puts two temporary spacers to realign the spine and remove the pressure on the nerve root. These spaces are then carefully replaced with two metal cages, which are packed with morselized bone graft. The bone graft grows through the holes in the cage thereby fusing with the bone in both vertebrae to create a bridge made of solid bone.

Meanwhile, epidural steroid injections may be used to relieve back pain. This is a non-surgical process that only requires a few minutes to complete. In this procedure, a local anesthetic steroid medication is delivered to the inflamed nerve roots located in the lower spine.

Those who are interested in the spine care services offered by Dr. Randall F. Dryer at Central Texas Spine Institute may want to visit their website or contact them through the telephone or via email. Buckingham Palace has forcefully denied a claim by the brother of the late Princess Diana that King Charles III said his ex-wife would soon be forgotten after her death. In a new book, Charles Spencer recounts the traumatic days after Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997 at the age of 36. He alleges that he argued with his sister’s former husband over palace plans for Prince William and Prince Harry, then aged 15 and 12, to walk behind her coffin during the funeral...

Netflix K-drama The Scandal review: Son Ye-jin, Nana anchor Dangerous Liaisons adaptation

4/5 stars Lead cast: Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook, Nana Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liaisons), an 18th century novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, is an erotically charged tale of aristocrats indulging in illicit games of seduction that may not seem like an ideal fit for a Joseon-era Korean adaptation at first. The period’s patriarchal nature, however, makes it the perfect backdrop for The Scandal, Netflix’s glossy adaptation of the novel starring Son Ye-jin (No Other Choice), Ji...
