Shanghai, China, October 22, 2026 -- On October 18, the "New Design Language Launch" was held at the Chery Global Technology Innovation Center in Shanghai as part of the 2026 EXEED International User Summit. Under the theme "The Future Luxury," EXEED design stylist Christo Pavlidis and Chief Designer Juan Manuel Diaz jointly presented the brand's new Future Luxury design language, rooted in its Perpetua design philosophy. The ET 2027, ES GT and X Concept were displayed, giving guests from around the world an opportunity to view the three models up close.
Perpetua forms the foundation of EXEED's evolving design philosophy, drawing inspiration from the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean, shaped by light, tides and time. Inspired by the different forms of water, the design team has developed two distinct directions. The fluidity, speed and tension of liquid water inspire the design of sport-oriented models, while the clean facets, upright surfaces and substantial volumes of solid ice have informed the Future Luxury design language unveiled at the event. Through pure surfaces, clearly defined geometric forms and a carefully crafted interplay of light and shadow, Future Luxury conveys a sense of luxury defined by solidity and composure. Together, these two directions reflect the openness of Perpetua, allowing EXEED's design language to evolve continuously while remaining grounded in the same philosophy.

The three models on display offered guests an opportunity to explore the brand's design thinking through different vehicle forms. Unveiled at Auto China 2026 in Beijing, the X Concept features a sleek, flowing silhouette and an aerodynamic channel running from front to rear. Its overall form evokes a futuristic aircraft, while the "X" symbolizes crossover possibilities and diverse potential, exploring the relationship between people, vehicles and family life in Future Luxury mobility. The ET 2027 and ES GT interpret luxury in their own ways — the former designed around family mobility, the latter combining sportiness with touring practicality. Through their respective SUV and shooting brake proportions, sculpted surfaces and lighting details, the two models express their own visions of luxury.
The ET 2027's design updates are most evident at the front: broad, flowing surfaces extend outward toward the sides, while the full-width LED headlights emphasize horizontal lines, giving the front end a clean, confident appearance. At the rear, full, sculpted shoulders echo the front-end design, while track-inspired, full-width LED taillights emphasize the vehicle's width and visual cohesion, creating a distinctive nighttime signature.
In profile, the ET 2027's nearly five-meter length and three-meter wheelbase create well-balanced, elongated proportions. The roofline, beltline and window contours flow together naturally, preserving the commanding presence of a large SUV while giving it a lighter, less bulky appearance. New 20-inch wheels and bright silver window trim add refinement to the exterior, while the interior accommodates both family passengers and luggage. The ET 2027 also took part in track test drives during the summit, allowing guests to experience its dynamic performance beyond the static display.
The ES GT offers a more direct interpretation of fluidity and tension. Its front end combines expansive surfaces with continuously evolving curvature to create a sporty character and reinforce brand recognition. The low-slung body and rearward-extending roof form a cohesive shooting brake silhouette. The side body gradually tapers from the rear wheels toward the front, echoing the accelerating flow of ocean currents and giving the vehicle a sense of forward motion even when stationary.
This sense of motion is carried through the smooth transition between full volumes and taut surfaces, while the full-width LED taillights further emphasize the width of the rear. The elongated roof and seamlessly integrated rear also provide a practical foundation for passenger comfort and luggage capacity, balancing a performance-oriented character with everyday commuting, weekend leisure and long-distance travel.

From exploring the design philosophy to experiencing the vehicles firsthand, the launch event showcased the evolution of EXEED's design language. Drawing inspiration from the different forms of water, the brand has developed distinct design expressions, translating the sculptural qualities of glaciers into a new language of luxury. Through cohesive proportions, sculpted surfaces and carefully considered lighting, EXEED establishes a recognizable design identity, while adapting vehicle forms to different mobility needs. The ET 2027's focus on family space and the ES GT's balance of sportiness and touring practicality connect design expression with the user experience, giving Future Luxury a broader, more multifaceted meaning.

Since the Shaw Prize was first presented in 2004, the prestigious annual awards have been presented in three categories: astronomy, life science and medicine, and mathematical sciences. A fourth category – computer science – was announced earlier this year in a move that is fully in keeping with the original vision of Run Run Shaw, the late Hong Kong film mogul and legendary philanthropist, who set everything in motion. His intention was to recognise the quest for knowledge and honour...

The appeal of a good knit is often immediate, from the softness against the skin to the reassuring volume and warmth. At 45R, those qualities begin well before a garment takes shape. The Japanese label’s latest selection puts the making process in focus, bringing together airy merino, characterful Shetland wool and the flecked textures of Donegal tweed. Founded in Tokyo in 1977, 45R approaches clothing through monozukuri, or the “art of making”, a philosophy centred on respect for craft and...

Back in April, suit jackets lined with interesting graphics and prints emerged as one of the more unusual fashion trends at the 2026 NFL draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the annual event where professional American football teams pick out the best young players looking to enter the league. Colton Hood, then a Tennessee cornerback, now on the New York Giants’ roster, rocked up in a cobalt-blue jacket that, when opened, revealed a swathe of family photographs across the lining, chronicling his...

At 22, Luca Yang was running a small teaching company in New Zealand after quitting a six-figure finance job that he hated. It had humble beginnings, where he tutored English online for A$25 (US$17.55) per hour just to get by. When one of his students got into Oxford, word spread: one student became 50, then 500. By most measures, he had already won the start-up lottery. “It was producing a lot of money, but it wasn’t something I actually loved doing,” says Yang, who was born and raised in...
