As the body gets older, it starts losing lean muscle mass, which contributes to a lower metabolic rate. Vestibular changes that impair the ability to balance also occur with aging, resulting in falls that can lead to fractures. According to the National Institute of Health, more than one-third of people over the age of 65 suffer from falls each year, often resulting in injuries such as hip fractures. Bone density decrease is another problem associated with aging that can lead to osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones become fragile and prone to breakage.
“Everything needed to start working out right away is included,” Diana adds. “So, what better way to celebrate this holiday season with the older person in your life than to give them gifts for grandparents that encourage them to incorporate exercise into their daily routine in the easiest possible way?”
