Mississauga Rapper, Newby 'From 416 to 905'
Mississauga, Aug 4, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Newby is a Canadian Artist, born in Toronto, Ontario. His love for music started at a young age, he explored many different art forms, but nothing stuck to him like the music. Inspired by the past, Newby is able to drop nostalgic hints from the 80's & 90's though his words, and overall aesthetic. Culturally ambiguous and open to all, Newby is far from a Newbie when it comes to flavour! His music is best described as 'Funky Alternative, Pop-Rap'. Newby is great at keeping his rhymes playful, energetic, and filled with innuendoes- introducing a refreshing take on the Toronto Hip-Hop scene.
Newby, better known as "Aaron" to his peers, has extensive training and background knowledge in Art. Immediately after attending St. Francis Xavier Secondary School in Mississauga, Aaron attended OCAD University (Ontario College of Art & Design University) in Toronto, and successfully graduated with a BFA.
In 2018 Newby introduced himself to the world, with his most recognized song 'Baked', which has just the right amount of rap and female vocals, to feel like you're back in the 90's. 'Fountain Drink' was then released with a music video, and more singles followed, such as 'Bout It' and 'Yoshi'.
During the quarantine, Newby got creative with his home circumstances and shot a vertical video to his single 'Yoshi', which also displayed his hometown, Mississauga. He had revealed, that he does the edits to all of his music videos and has been waiting for the perfect time to drop the visuals to 'Baked' which was rumoured to be filmed in 2018, yet there has been no words on the release besides cryptic Instagram stories asking which video should be released next and hints at a possible mixtape.
The Multidisciplinary artist had made a return to social media this past month and left us a link to his un-official website with links to all of his works. The webpage functions as a regular site should, however, the merchandises are currently under password protection, which is available through his DM.
His approach to growing his fanbase has been very personal as he personally handed out flyers on public transit, streets, airport terminals, and universities. Newby had approached his prospects in the old 'Street Marketing' style, which has been obsolete from many record labels.
