Keeping Food Safe During the Coronavirus: Purfresh's Ozone Technology Mitigates Virus Contamination

Purfresh's ozone systems that are used on imported ocean container cargos mitigate the spread of viruses and protect food. Ozone has been scientifically proven to kill pathogens, including E.coli, salmonella, and listeria. Certified for use with organic produce and approved by the USDA and the FDA, ozone acts as a powerful, residue-free disinfectant that immediately reverts to oxygen, leaving the product's natural taste, texture, and smell intact.

Dangerous food-borne contaminations are an ongoing challenge in the global food supply chain. Around the world, countries have different regulations on how food is processed; when multiple countries are involved, it becomes difficult to guarantee safety when transporting food. Scientifically engineered, the Purfresh system enhances the atmosphere inside the transit container with an active form of oxygen—commonly referred to as ozone—to control molds, yeasts, ethylene, Salmonella, E. coli, listeria and other contaminants in the air and on surfaces.
As the world grapples with stopping the spread of COVID-19, studies, including from Thailand Medical News, are demonstrating ozone's ability to destroy the current coronavirus.
