London, United Kingdom Mar 2, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - On 17th December 2022, the Latin American community in London came together to celebrate the United Nations International Migrants Day at Guildhall. The event was hosted by Luis Felipe Tilleria, the first Latinamerican councilor elected in the City of London, and was attended by several notable Latinamerican leaders, including William Garcia and Lina Usma from Extra Media newspaper, Raul Gimeno, manager of the Latinamerican Chamber of Commerce, and Harry Sardinas from Speakers Are Leaders.
The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Professor Chris Imafidon, a world record holder and renowned expert in education. Professor Imafidon addressed the audience on the topic of the migrant heritage of King Charles III and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, highlighting the significant contributions that migrants have made to the UK throughout history.
The event was held in honor of International Migrants Day, which is observed annually on 18th December. The day aims to recognize the contributions of migrants to societies around the world and to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities associated with migration.
Luis Felipe Tilleria, the event's host, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to bring the Latin American community together and celebrate their contributions to the City of London. "We are proud to be part of such a vibrant and diverse community, and we are committed to working together to make our voices heard and our contributions recognized," he said.
The event was a great success, bringing together members of the Latin American community in a spirit of celebration and solidarity. The organizers hope that this event will be the first of many to come and that it will help to build a stronger and more united Latin American community in London.

A fourth category – computer science – was announced earlier this year in a move that is fully in keeping with the original vision of Run Run Shaw, the late Hong Kong film mogul and legendary philanthropist, who set everything in motion. His intention was to recognise the quest for knowledge and honour...

The appeal of a good knit is often immediate, from the softness against the skin to the reassuring volume and warmth. At 45R, those qualities begin well before a garment takes shape. The Japanese label’s latest selection puts the making process in focus, bringing together airy merino, characterful Shetland wool and the flecked textures of Donegal tweed. Founded in Tokyo in 1977, 45R approaches clothing through monozukuri, or the “art of making”, a philosophy centred on respect for craft and...

Colton Hood, then a Tennessee cornerback, now on the New York Giants’ roster, rocked up in a cobalt-blue jacket that, when opened, revealed a swathe of family photographs across the lining, chronicling his...

At 22, Luca Yang was running a small teaching company in New Zealand after quitting a six-figure finance job that he hated. It had humble beginnings, where he tutored English online for A$25 (US$17.55) per hour just to get by. When one of his students got into Oxford, word spread: one student became 50, then 500. By most measures, he had already won the start-up lottery. “It was producing a lot of money, but it wasn’t something I actually loved doing,” says Yang, who was born and raised in...
