MSK Doctors (03300010048), a private hospital in London offering the new SPAIRE hip replacement procedure, has launched a new report explaining the benefits of the SPAIRE technique, including how patients can go home right away after the operation with no mobility restrictions.

Sleaford, United Kingdom - December 22, 2023 /PressCable/ —
In a new report on the SPAIRE hip replacement procedure, Prof. Paul Lee, the founder of MSK Doctors in London and an experienced specialist in several hip replacement surgeries, explains how this new surgical option preserves several important muscles and tendons in the patient’s hip, kick-starting their recovery.
More information about the SPAIRE procedure, how it differs from traditional surgery, and a self-referral program for new patients can be found at https://mskdoctors.com/doctors/paul-lee/articles/why-choose-spaire-hip-replacement-my-expert-approach-to-morden-hip-replacement-qa
While this new surgical technique is not available yet at most clinics, the report suggests that this is likely due to a lack of surgeons trained in the new technique, since it offers improvements in several critical areas. New patients can schedule a consultation with a specialist from MSK Doctors to discuss their options, with no referral from their GP, and no waiting list.
With a traditional hip replacement, the surgical team must cut and then repair several important muscle groups. In time, these muscles and tendons will often fully recover, but during the healing process, patients are often restricted in how they can move. This may include a restriction against bending the knees too much, twisting their legs, or crossing them.
The SPAIRE technique, due to its muscle-saving approach, allows patients to return home within 23 hours after their procedure, with no mobility restrictions whatsoever. While patients should refrain from strenuous exercise during their initial recovery, the report explains that the SPAIRE procedure provides so much stability, that the surgical team may ask patients to exercise their hip’s full range of motion soon after their operation.
The new report from Prof. Paul Lee explains in detail how the SPAIRE procedure preserves the piriformis and obturator internus muscles, and how this changes the outcome of the procedure. In clinical studies, this technique was also shown to reduce the potential for post-operative dislocations, with no SPAIRE subject experiencing a dislocation during trials.
However, while this new surgical option provides several benefits related to hastening the patient’s recovery, the report also mentions another option, focusing on reducing visible scarring. This aesthetic-focused option is known as the Bikini DAA surgery and allows the surgeon to provide many of the same benefits as a SPAIRE procedure while hiding the scar in the bikini line.
More information about the SPAIRE and Bikini DAA surgical options, the MSK Doctors self-referral program, and how the SPAIRE technique can eliminate mobility restrictions, can be found at https://mskdoctors.com/treatments/spaire-hip

Far removed from the sweeping historical epics and sleek commercial blockbusters that have long defined the region’s cinematic exports, a quieter evolution is unfolding across Asian cinema. An emerging cohort of storytellers is eschewing grand spectacles to navigate the intimate, the unspoken and the marginalised. In doing so, these young directors are carving out a new path – one they view as more grounded and representative of contemporary life. Nadia Chui and Law Yik-man from Hong Kong, Bo...
A Taylor Swift music video is never complete without Easter eggs. When the pop superstar debuted the “Patient Zero” music video at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, fans were treated to a treasure trove of references and celebrity cameos. One of the familiar faces that popped up was Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was joined by his wife, Kelly Stafford. The two weren’t at the VMAs – the Rams were playing the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver,...

Eve Irvine is pleased to welcome Stephanie Hoffmann, Project Coordinator for Butembo, North Kivu, Doctors Without Borders. The Ebola outbreak is hitting a region already ravaged by decades of armed conflict, insecurity, and an overwhelmed health system. As the epidemic's epicenter shifts from Ituri to North Kivu, the disease is spreading and the transmission is accelerating. In Butembo, a densely populated city of around 2 million, health workers themselves are being placed in an impossible position, often caring for their neighbors and relatives without adequate protective equipment.

1/5 stars Japanese comedian Naomi Watanabe plays a pop star who travels to the Taiwanese countryside in search of her ancestral home in the horror comedy Oh My Ghost! Oh My God! Marking the directorial debut of indigenous actor Soda Voyu, the film follows an eclectic group of oddball characters as they navigate all manner of supernatural obstacles in the hostile mountains, but fails spectacularly to be either scary or funny. A spiritual sequel to Hidden Treasures in the Mountain (2018), Oh My...
