Continuing his academic path, Mackangelo achieved a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy/Therapy at Nova Southeastern University from 2020 to 2022, solidifying his qualifications in this field.

Having actively engaged in several volunteer roles to make a positive impact, Mackangelo dedicated nine months, from September 2019 to May 2020, to the Healthcare Careers Outreach Program as a Student Volunteer. In this role, he collaborated with highly motivated students from local middle schools and high schools, fostering their interest in the medical field through engaging activities, including gross anatomy labs. Simultaneously, he volunteered for FAU's Standardized Patient Program from September 2018 to May 2020.
Additionally, in September 2019, Mackangelo spent one month volunteering for Julia's Star Foundation, Inc., a noble initiative focused on supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families while also contributing to awareness and research funding in the realm of children's healthcare.
Mackangelo was honored as an ACE Top Executive Intern in May of 2016, and his association with Maplewood Wellness Center marked this achievement. This prestigious award is bestowed upon Executive Interns who have not only successfully fulfilled the requirements of their internship but have also garnered high praise from their mentors.
