Parents are looking for ways to get their children off of tablets, phones, and video game devices. This new toy that is a mix of several classic children's toys all rolled into one convenient, and affordable package might be the answer.

Fayetteville, United States - October 3, 2018 /MarketersMedia/ —
Playing outside might seem like a natural pastime for children, but society is seeing less and less of it in the present. With toy companies struggling to survive and big retailers like Toys-R-Us going bankrupt it is clear that the chosen toy for children heading in todays age are toys with screens, mainly tablets, phones, and video game consoles. It is being reported that the average child in America now watches seven hours of screen time a day or more. Parents, and especially grandparents, are eager and desperate to find ways to encourage their children to be kids and to play the way they did when they were growing up. Parents and Grandparents also struggle to find ways of keeping kids happy while on hiking and camping trips. They find that their kids are so used to screens that they have trouble adapting to being outdoors. There are many children today who miss out on what was so natural to kids a generation ago.
That is where one toy company is trying to change things. Owned and operated by Army veterans, Discover Kids is trying to get children outside once more, and is doing it in a very simple way. Their brand new "Adventure Kit" is a mix of toys that have been around for a long time, but have been brought together in a very affordable little kit that includes compass, binoculars, whistle, magnifying glass, rechargeable hand-crank flashlight, and backpack. This kit has everything a child would need to experience what their backyards, parks, and campsites have to offer. Kids play with the toys in the kit without any or very little instruction. They completely forget about screens the whole time they are at the park or campsite, no complaints. Each piece of this kit really works as well. Now, for $24.99 the pieces are not the highest quality, but you will be surprised when you found out that none of them are fake. You can actually use the compass to tell North, the binoculars to birdwatch, the magnifying glass to look at bugs, and plants. It's a great kit for that price.
Discover Kids is also a company that cares about giving back to children around the world who are less fortunate. The founders have the vision of helping hungry and needy children around the world. They currently do this through funding orphanages and charities in Uganda, but ultimately have the goal of doing it around the world.
During its limited release the only place to purchase the Adventure Kit during is on Amazon. You can view and purchase it Here.

In her New York solo exhibition at 47 Canal, Hong Kong-raised artist Cici Wu animates the gallery space with 11 paper lanterns made using traditional techniques. Inside the lanterns constructed with bamboo and willow sticks and sheathed in mulberry paper, she has placed pulsating LED lights that cast moving shadows. There is something cinematic about these luminous sculptures that are traditionally vessels of memories and loss. The pulsating light in each lantern corresponds to a section of the...

“We’re in the golden age of Canadian wines,” legendary wine writer Tony Aspler tells me confidently. We are at an intimate showcase of the stuff at the Canadian consulate in Hong Kong’s Quarry Bay neighbourhood, where representatives of nine wineries have gathered to prove that the true north has more than ice wine to offer. As a wine drinker with no particular bias – I will happily quaff a funky Austrian pét-nat (sparkling wine) as much as a fine Burgundy – it was natural for me to enter with...
