John Galt Solutions, automating supply chain planning to empower business leaders to make better decisions faster, today announced Pinnacle Propane, a retail propane company with more than 60,0000 customer locations across the United States, has achieved impressive results with the Atlas Planning Platform including a 25 percent improvement in forecast accuracy. Leveraging advances in machine learning, John Galt has helped automate demand and replenishment planning, and optimize transportation routing and purchase orders.
Pinnacle Propane operates a highly complex network of bulk gas storage, end customer delivery and community distribution systems across the Central and Southeast United States. Pinnacle identified an opportunity to enhance customer service, expand planned deliveries, and reduce logistics and distribution costs. The team at Pinnacle selected John Galt's innovative Atlas Planning Platform to improve supply chain performance.
Working with John Galt, Pinnacle Propane brings in daily sources of IoT data including telemetry (cellular sensor) inventory data, in addition to POS (point of sale) and customer sales history to drive the supply chain plan. Telemetry data, for example, is sent by an IoT sensor placed on top of bulk storage tanks which allows Pinnacle to measure inventory levels at each customer location. The Atlas Planning Platform transforms this raw data into daily usage to re-plan replenishment needs every morning.
"An accurate forecast is the foundation of a successful supply chain and our ability to deliver the highest possible customer service throughout our growing network," said Gijs Majoor, vice president of supply chain & sustainable fuels, Pinnacle Propane. "John Galt's Atlas Planning Platform has helped us automate our demand and replenishment planning and turn data from multiple sources such as IoT and POS into actionable insights. The platform allows us to focus on priority items that help move the business forward."
John Galt also helps optimize truck routes to minimize both distance travelled and delays, avoiding 15 percent in annual distribution costs. The Atlas Planning Platform's ability to capture and analyze external data, recognize complex patterns, and identify actionable demand signals improved forecast accuracy by 25 percent, and allowed Pinnacle to scale its operations and support growth in demand for its products and services.
The Atlas Planning Platform's machine learning capabilities automatically identify bad data and send prescriptive recommendations to the team allowing Pinnacle Propane to focus on strategic activities. By automating demand and replenishment planning, Pinnacle manages its entire customer base of 60,000 with just one forecast & demand planning manager.
"Innovative companies like Pinnacle Propane are transforming their operations through advanced supply chain solutions that help them serve their customers more effectively and make better decisions," said Matt Hoffman, vice president, customer success, John Galt Solutions. "The Atlas Planning Platform helps companies turn data into actionable insights and solve today's complex supply chain challenges. We are excited to continue our work with Pinnacle and support their journey of supply chain excellence."

I spent a week in Warsaw and ate more pierogi than I could shake a stick at. These beloved traditional Polish dumplings come filled with potatoes, cheese, meat, mushrooms and even fruit. Boiled or fried, they may look familiar to anyone acquainted with jiaozi, the Chinese dumpling, although their flavours are distinctly Polish. This is not to suggest that dumplings travelled directly from China to Poland. One theory posits that dumpling-like foods – from Nepalese momo and Central Asian and...
