Proposed DUI law changes will result in 300 more felony convictions, if passed, say prominent DUI lawyers and Criminal Defense Attorneys in Washington State. Families of the victims of DUI fatalities support State Senator Mike Padden, who believes current punishments are lenient by national standards.
Renton, United States - January 27, 2017 /PressCable/ —
DUI Lawyers in Washington State are warning that a proposed change to the states DUI laws will see at least 300 new felony convictions every year. State Senator Mike Padden (R-Spokane Valley) has sponsored legislation that would see a change to current Washington law, to toughen DUI punishments, which will see a felony conviction on the 4th DUI with in a 10 year period. Currently, the 5th DUI in 10 years is considered a felony. Senator Padden is supported by a special task force dealing with impaired driving. In 2013 the task force’s top recommendation was to toughen the states felony DUI law. Families of the victims of DUI deaths support Padden’s bill, and believe as he does that a price cannot be put on saving a life.

Senator Mike Padden is recorded as commenting as follows,
“It would make a fourth DUI within 10 years a felony,” he went on to say, “Most folks say, ‘four? It oughta be three or two.’”
If a Washington driver is facing any kind of DUI charge, then the reduction in the number of non felony offenses make it imperative to seek a top, proven, criminal defense attorney. Hiring a DUI specialist will give a driver the very best chance of beating the charge and winning the case. Attorneys who fight for clients with DUI charges are experts in their field and know the specific DUI laws, police procedures and tactics. They know that often drivers are pulled over and charged erroneously, police proceedures were not followed and, in many instances, a case is dropped because of irregularities and mistakes in the booking process. Getting a felony changes a persons life for the worst, and while nobody believes that those who cause DUI fatalities should not be punished harshly or get off easily, a Washington driver should not be at risk because of a charge that should have been dropped, if the person had hired a competent attorney.

Before The Dark Knight made him a household name in 2008, Christopher Nolan crafted intricate thrillers such as Following (1998), Memento (2000) and Insomnia (2002). But 2006’s The Prestige, which turns 20 this month, is the most labyrinthine by far. Made just after Batman Begins (2005), but a far stranger and more personal proposition, it is set in 1890s London. Here, we are introduced to stage magicians Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale), who risk their lives, and...
