Why Is There So Much Fuss For Vaping in Aussie Lawmakers?

Jan 23, 2021

January 23, 2021 /MarketersMedia/ —

The Federal Government office of Drug Control in Australia made an important announcement. It has imposed a number of crucial changes regarding the import of E-Cigarette fluid in the country.

According to the new amendment, patrons of the Australian vaping industry will no longer get permission to import nicotine-containing fluids for use in E-Cigarettes. The ruling holds good for cases where a prescription for the consumption of such things is produced.

The amendment will be enforced from 01.01.2021.

The new Rule

The new ruling states that E-Cigarette users will have to produce the doctor who has prescribed them to use Nicotine-contained vaping liquid. The doctor must be willing and able to import the contents on behalf of their clients.

It implies that the doctor has the necessary permit to import nicotine for healing measures.

Consequences

Senator Matthew Canavan and MP George Christensen have decided to launch rebellious action upon this unprecedented attack on consumers of vapour liquid Australia.

Their joint mission has decided to file a petition urging reconsideration of such banning.

The Legalise Vaping Australia, another organization, has decided to support the cause of such a petition. It has declared fighting against the power-grabbing attitude of the health minister Greg Hunt.

In retaliation to the effect, Legalise Vaping Policy Director, Emile Dye has pointed out that such repercussion is a natural reaction against decree from persons in power. She has also argued that Senator Matthew Canavan and MP George Christensen are doing the right thing to save the lives of thousands of Aussie people.

It is also said that vaping is scientific and is always better than tobacco inhaling. People in Australia are accustomed to a smoke-free healthy lifestyle.

Australian vapers are concerned about the evil effect of smoking. Besides causing injuries to personal health, it affects non-smokers aside too. Consuming nicotine through the liquid is entirely a personal choice. Any attempt to regulate such a habit would mean interference with personal rights.

Therefore, Legalise Vaping Australia has called civic Australians to join Senator Canavan and George Christensen MP by signing over the joint petition.

Probable intention for implementing the rules

Reason 1

The Government is concerned with the increased use of E-cigarettes among school students in the USA. It has feared that if the school-goers in the country become addicted to vapor Australia consumption, it may pave the way for paranoid smoking. The national health indicator will show a negative impulse.

Reason 2

The government has also pointed out the cases of nicotine poisonings in the country since the previous few years.

For the reference frame, the circulation has also mentioned the death of a toddler in the Victoria province back in 2018.

The main reason for framing the amendment was to keep the budding generation away from smoking. Restricting vaping in Australia will rather impact those who consume E-Cigarettes as an alternative to smoking.

The toddler had died by using highly concentrated imported nicotine-containing fluid. It is a unique case that is found seldom. Generalizing a rare case means injustice to the mass.

Therefore, I feel that the Australian Government must reconsider the new law and withdraw it.

Explainer: How hard water affects your hair and skin – and what can help

Water is the one part of a shower nobody thought to question. You research the shampoo, read the ingredient list on the back of the shower gel, and then you rinse all of it off with whatever comes out of the tap. Except that the water is doing something too – even if just what hasn’t been given a name. There’s a good chance you experienced the effects of hard water before you ever heard the term. You know it as the chalky ring that reappears on your shower screen days after you scrubbed it off,...

What is frozen shoulder? Symptoms, treatment, risk factors and exercises

When her left shoulder began to ache shortly before she turned 50, my sister Carol Wilson ignored the pain and put it down to a poor-quality mattress. She hoped the situation would resolve when she moved house in the UK – and got a new bed. The pain continued. “I kept hoping it would get better,” she says. “But it didn’t.” Her doctor diagnosed a frozen shoulder and alluded to it being something that occurred in “women of a certain age”. He prescribed physiotherapy, which didn’t help her much,...

As the 2026 US midterm elections draw near, Minnesota Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar has found herself embroiled in renewed controversy over her immigration history and past marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Elmi has long been alleged to be her brother, although the Somali-born legislator has denied such claims, which remain unproven. However, in 2016, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security found some evidence suggesting the marriage may have been fraudulent, The New York Times...

How China’s ‘enchanting’ farms became a draw for foreign tourists

When the travel agency China Highlights organises bus trips for foreign tourists to iconic sights across China, the company says one last-minute request keeps cropping up again and again. “Can we visit a farm?” The question has become so common that guides now organise farm tours lasting a day or two for groups as they drive back from scenic spots such as Huangshan and Zhangjiajie, according to company CEO Steven Zhao. The tourists often wanted to meet the farmers, have lunch in their...

Why the Chinese immigrant story Thousand Pieces of Gold (1991) is a lost Old West classic

Sometimes, through no fault of their own, good films slip through the cracks. They fall out of fashion, are misunderstood by critics or are poorly distributed, and it can take the passage of time – or a miracle – to bring them back into the light. So it is with Nancy Kelly’s 1991 period piece Thousand Pieces of Gold, adapted from Ruthanne Lum McCunn’s 1981 novel and starring Rosalind Chao from The Joy Luck Club. The film is a sincere, authentic-feeling drama based on the incredible true story of...
